I bought these after a particular generous cash gift from my parents, and now feel a little ambivalent. I have six other pairs (including a 1980s Zeiss set of binoculars) and this little thing has pretty much rendered them all obsolete. This is my first experience with modern Zeiss binoculars, and they are amazing. Quite apart from the quality and ruggedness of the build, the sharpness of the image is amazing. I have used them during hikes in Epping Forest, and the way they penetrate through the dim light of the trees is amazing. I spent a pleasant hour of so this evening (26/12/2016) stargazing with these in a heavily light polluted near London sky. Using them to observe the Pleiades they were able to keep up with an, admittedly old, 10x50 set of bins.
So, in short, these are amazing. I am extremely pleased with my purchase. My only gripe is that I will have to save up for the next 10 years to afford my next set of Zeiss binoculars.
